Right now at 11 00, an emotional night in the bay area as the community is coming together in two separate vigils to honor a fallen officer. This is tragic accident and as a family, we feel like we are caught in the middle. The family of the man who gunned down officer Stephen Johnson speaks out for the first time. Im jillian wang in for raj mathai. And im jessica aguirre. What are they saying . They are classifying it as a shoot g shooting. Reporter more than 100 people gathered for a candlelight vigil with San Jose Police officer Michael Johnson was gunned down, but the tragic shooting has been hard for the family of the suspects, too, 57yearold scott dunham. We feel like we are caught in the middle, because we are mourning for the officer, and for our uncle. Reporter they responded to the call of a suicidal man when dunham shot and killed the officer. He does have bipolar and the alcohol ixand all of it took effect, and we want the community to know that we do care and we are sorry.
