Heres what the iowa flood level would look like. Water from the cedar river and lakes in that area would flood the city as r north as lone tree road. It would also cover sturgis and river front parks along the river. Volunteers were out overnight trying to protect main street in cedar falls. New this morning passengers who rode with uber uberdriver jason dalton are painting a clearer picture of the erratic behavior the shooting suspect showed before police say he went on a rampage saturday night. Night. Dalton was arrested and is now accused of a series of random shootings that killed six people and injured two others. Police believe in between the several shootings, dalton continued driving some passengers around. Kalamazoo resident matt mellen says dalton was acting strange, running stop signs and driving we were driving through medians, driving through the lawn, speeding along and when we came to a stop, i jumped out the car and ran away. An unusual rescue effort for this time of year saved four people who became stuck on a sandbar this morning in southwest cedar rapids. A road is also back open that fire and police had to block off for the water rescue. Police found four people had gotten their boat style atv stuck in Prairie Creek near the intersection of j street and Hawkeye Downs road southwest. The people were able to get off the boat and to safety on a sand bar. The Fire Department then used inflatable boats to bring them to shore. Most importantly they were able to rescue themselves to the point where they were in a semi safe area. Deploying a response to a river like this or creek is difficult because theres no boat ramps. Were not exactly sure where its at. So in a situation like that, people that are involved in these incidents have to protect get there. No one was injured.
