Pre-monsoon season of 2023 is turning out to be one of the rainiest in the last many years over these states. Crop damage was reported over parts of Punjab and Haryana during the second half of March due to intense rain, thunderstorm, strong winds and hailstorm activities.
A moderate intensity Western disturbance is approaching Western Himalayas on February 28. It may induce a cyclonic circulation over Punjab and adjoining parts of north Haryana leading to scattered rain over Punjab and North Haryana as well as Northwest Uttar Pradesh between February 28 and March 2nd.
