New news. An uproar over a library. Dozens of santa clara residents protested at city hall today upset with the 19 million new building very close to completion. The library located behind the river Mart Shopping Center is caught in a funding fight between the city and the county. Nbc bay area kimberly tery is live to explain. Reporter that library is 99. 9 done. Take a look at it behind me here. But this building is empty. It was supposed to be open on december 6. But the county stepped in and halted construction. Santa clara county says the city is spending redevelopment money on the library when under state law that money should be going to schools in special districts. Last month the county won a court order freezing the citys assets, including the money that would have gone to completing the library. This library has been a longawaited dream of the north of bay shore residents. This is a library thats going to impact education, going to impact economic revenue, impact the desirabi
