Hasina-Modi talks yield 39-point joint statement 640 DHAKA, Dec 17, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh and India today issued a 39-point joint statement as their premiers held virtual talks, described by both sides as “comprehensive” touching upon all aspects of bilateral relations and respective views on regional and international issues. The statement highlighted 10 major issues which it said featured the talks between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her counterpart Narendra Modi, with a generalized review of bilateral ties featuring the beginning point of the communiqué. India, Bangladesh discuss sharing of Teesta waters during virtual summit: MEA ANI | Updated: Dec 17, 2020 20:52 IST New Delhi [India], December 17 (ANI): India and Bangladesh on Thursday discussed sharing the waters of Teesta and other rivers, as well as issues related to fisheries, ministry of external affairs said. These were discussed during the virtual summit between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Hasina highlighted the need for early signing of an interim agreement for sharing of the Teesta waters, as agreed upon by both the governments in 2011. Prime Minister Modi reiterated India s sincere commitment and continued efforts of New Delhi in that regard, according to a joint statement.
