A Vine Grove man was arrested Friday evening for wanton endangerment of a police officer and numerous traffic charges after a police chase with Kentucky State Police troopers.

Last week newcomer Sen. Adrienne Southworth, R-Lawrenceburg - the first Republican to hold the Senate District 7 seat, which includes Franklin County - filed a bill that would prohibit face mask requirements during a state of emergency across Kentucky.
According to the sparse wording of Senate Bill 158, only health care workers would be obligated to wear facial coverings during the COVID-19 pandemic and any other virus or disease emergencies.
Southworth said on social media that she filed SB 158 “to start the conversation on how to address acute vs. chronic and local/regional disparity.”
A Cecilia man was arrested Saturday and charged with first degree strangulation.
According to an arrest citation from Kentucky State Police, troopers were called to a Cecilia residence on a report of domestic assault.
KSP made contact with the victim and the parents of Cody Elliott, 25. The citation said the victim was visibly upset and crying, and said police observed multiple knots on the victimâs face and red marks around her neck
She told police that Elliott had been drinking beer all day and was intoxicated. The two argued about one of her children because the child had to go with the biological father for the weekend, which made Elliott upset, the citation said.
