Kentucky State Police have arrested two people in connection with a deadly home-invasion style robbery early April 30.
The robbery in the Dawson Way area of Rowan County left 27-year-old Cody Elliott dead and another man injured, according to Kentucky State Police.
Later Friday, Kentucky State Police arrested two men in connection with the incident.
Austin W. Egbert, 23, of Garrison, and Jeffery Masters, 23, of Morehead, were arrested and charged with murder and first-degree armed robbery. Both men are being held at the Rowan County Detention Center.
According to online jail records, Egbert is being held on a $750,000 bond, while bond in Mastersâ case has been set at $500,000.

Two men have been charged with Murder and 1st degree robbery following a fatal home invasion in Rowan County.
23-year-old Jeffery Masters of Morehead and 23-year-old Austin Egbert of Garrison were arrested by Kentucky State Police early this morning.
According to the arrest citation, both men admitted to planning a robbery on Dawson Way early Thursday morning.
The report says 27-year-old Cody Elliott had gone to the residence with Egbert and Masters. Elliott was in the doorway when the occupants of the residence shot him. Elliott and other individuals inside the residence fired several shots. Elliott was transported to Saint Claire Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by Rowan County Coroner John Northcutt.
Kentucky State Police is investigating a shooting that left one person dead and another hurt in Rowan County. Troopers said officers were dispatched to a home on Dawson Way in the Clearfield area early Thursday morning.
State police say 27-year-old Cody Elliott and an unknown male went into the home. While inside, troopers say Elliott and other people inside the home fired several shots. As a result of the shooting, Elliott was taken to Saint Claire Regional Medical Center where he died. KSP says 21-year-old Donavan Kilburn was also hurt in the shooting incident. He was taken to the University of Kentucky Medical Center to be treated for his injuries. There’s no word on his condition. This case remains under investigation.
Cecilia man arrested after punching, strangling woman during argument December 22, 2020
A Hardin County man has been arrested after punching and strangling a woman.
Cody Elliott, 25, of Cecilia, was arrested Saturday night by Kentucky State Police and charged with first-degree strangulation, fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), resisting arrest, and menacing.
Troopers responded to Elliott’s Cecilia home on the report of a domestic assault and found the victim with “multiple knots” on her face and “red marks around her neck,” according to The News-Enterprise.
The victim told police Elliott was intoxicated and had been drinking all day. The two became embroiled in an argument, resulting in the suspect punching and strangling the victim multiple times, the newspaper reports.
A Cecilia man was arrested Saturday and charged with first degree strangulation.
According to an arrest citation from Kentucky State Police, troopers were called to a Cecilia residence on a report of domestic assault.
KSP made contact with the victim and the parents of Cody Elliott, 25. The citation said the victim was visibly upset and crying, and said police observed multiple knots on the victimâs face and red marks around her neck
She told police that Elliott had been drinking beer all day and was intoxicated. The two argued about one of her children because the child had to go with the biological father for the weekend, which made Elliott upset, the citation said.
