Uniindia: New Delhi, May 25 (UNI) Long queues of enthusiastic voters were seen outside all polling booths in the national capital on Saturday as Delhi s seven parliamentary seats went to the hustings in the sixth and penultimate phase of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
A voter turnout of 34.37% was recorded in Delhi's seven Lok Sabha constituencies by 1 pm, amidst technical snags and political complaints. The highest turnout was in North East Delhi at 37.31%, with Chandni Chowk at the lowest, 32.18%. Leaders and citizens alike urged people to vote while ensuring arrangements for the intense heat.
The office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) said that at 47.85 percent, the highest turnout was recorded in the North East Delhi constituency while the New Delhi seat had the lowest voting percentage at 42.17.
