🥎 Kansas to Host Iowa State in Final Regular-Season Series

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Kansas softball team (22-23, 2-13 Big 12) will wrap-up regular-season action this weekend hosting Iowa State (28-19, 3-12 Big 12) at Arrocha Ballpark. The three-game series is scheduled to begin on Friday, May 7 at 6 p.m. Action continues on Saturday, May 8 at 2 p.m., before concluding on Sunday, May 9 at noon. The weekend’s games will be available to watch on the Big 12 NOW on ESPN+. Leif Lesic will be on the call doing play-by-play all weekend. He will be joined by Jill Dorsey Hall on Friday and Saturday. 🥎 Jayhawks Drop Series Opener to Lady Bears

WACO, Texas – Sophomore Ashlyn Anderson recorded a seventh-inning home run but Kansas softball ultimately dropped the series opener to Baylor at Getterman Stadium on Friday night, 7-1. With the loss, the Jayhawks fall to 22-21 overall and 2-11 in the Big 12, as Baylor improves to 25-15 on the season and 6-6 in the Big 12. Baylor was able to take the lead in the bottom of the second inning with a single run scored. Kansas looked to level the score in the top of the third after Tarin Travieso and Haleigh Harper hit back-to-back singles with only one out. Despite getting runners on, KU wasn’t able to get anyone home.

🥎 Kansas Softball Set for Series at Baylor

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Kansas softball team (22-20, 2-10 Big 12) will wrap-up Big 12 road action this weekend in Waco, Texas at Baylor (24-15, 5-6 Big 12). The three-game series is slated to begin on Friday, April 30 at 6:30 p.m. and continue with a single game on Saturday, May 1 at 2 p.m. before concluding on Sunday, May 2 at noon. The weekend’s games will be available to watch on the Big 12 NOW on ESPN+. John Morris will be on the call doing play-by-play all weekend. He will be joined by Kelly Levesque on Friday and Saturday. Jordan Strickland will join John on Sunday.

🥎 Kansas Drops Two at No 9 Texas

AUSTIN, Texas – Kansas softball tallied a run in each game but weren’t able to stop the Longhorn’s bats as KU dropped two games to No. 9 Texas on Saturday afternoon at Red & Charline McCombs Field. The Jayhawks battled in the first game to an 8-1 loss, before dropping the second game, 10-1. With the two losses, Kansas falls to 22-19 overall and 2-9 in the Big 12. Texas improves to 34-6 and 8-3 in Big 12 play. Game One – Lost 8-1 The Jayhawks jumped ahead early after Brittany Jackson hit a single through the right side. Macy Omli advanced her to second with a sac bunt, and Morgyn Wynne took first base after being hit by a pitch with only one out. Shelby Gayre battled through six pitches before sending the seventh into left field for a RBI single scoring Jackson.

🥎 Jayhawks Rally but Fall to No 9 Texas, 10-8

AUSTIN, Texas – Kansas softball scored three runs in the second and tied the game with five runs in the fifth but it wasn’t enough as the Jayhawks fell to No. 9 Texas in the series finale on Sunday afternoon, 10-8. Following the loss, Kansas falls to 22-20 overall and 2-10 in the Big 12. Texas improves to 35-6 and 9-3 in Big 12 play. Macy Omli led the Jayhawks going 2-for-4 from the plate and brought in a career-high four RBIs. Texas got on the board in the bottom of the first inning with a single run crossing home but KU struck back quick.
