Our top story this halfhour, Governor Newsom unveils his updated state budget today. It comes with the projected multibillion dollar deficit as our capitol correspondent Eytan Wallace reports, the governor says there will be some very difficult decisions needed to close the gap. Well, here it is. All 45 pages. The governor provided for his budget to budget. The governor says will protect key programs. One he acknowledges comes with its challenges. This is a this is a sizable deficit. Governor gavin newsom not mincing words about his proposed budget for the coming fiscal year. Its a proposed 288 billion dollars spending plan that per newsom comes with a projected 27. 6 billion dollar deficit. That figure is much more optimistic than that of the nonpartisan legislative Analysts Office or who earlier this year projected the state faces a 73 billion dollar deficit.
