Officers responded to Bridgeport Hospital around 8:30 p.m. for a preliminary report of a person with a gunshot wound. Police said the victim went to one of the Greene Homes buildings to pick up a friend Tuesday night. “She was about to enter the elevator, where one of two parties that were currently in the elevator fired a weapon,” police said. A fragment hit the victim.

The violence of a near-record 12 months of violent death in the Park City began with the killing of 38-year-old Abdul Hassan Lemon in the 90 block of Remington Street around 1:30 a.m. on Jan. 10. He had been shot multiple times. He was rushed to the hospital where he later died. By the end of 2020, Bridgeport reached 24 killings. Of those 24 homicides, 21 were by gun, two by knife and one by strangulation.

Three juveniles and one one adult were arrested. Terriance Edward Williams, 19, of Bridgeport, was charged with illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, possession of a large magazine of ammunition, interfering with an officer, three counts of reckless endangerment and engaging police in pursuit.
