The Kandiyohi County Board of Commissioners will decide whether to call for bids on Phase II of the wastewater treatment plant improvements for the Green Lake Sanitary Sewer and Water District.
(Willmar MN-) December 15th was the final Kandiyohi County Board meeting for two commissioners.Harlan Madsen, who is retiring after 25 years on the board, and Steve Ahmann who was defeated last month by Steve Gardner. .Madsen, 72, says some of the things he will remember most being involved in include the Green Lake Sanitary Sewer and Water System, the EDC reorganization, the reorganization of the Humane Society, the Emergency Operations Center, Grass Lake project, fighting aquatic invasive species, and various projects like Lake Wakanda, Hubbard, Schultz and Wheeler. He considered running for reelection this past November but reoccurring episodes of heart arrhythmia convinced him to retire. A cancer survivor, Madsen also came down with COVID-19 in September.
