In the rear, multiple crews making every effort to save the Historic Church with no reported injuries. There was no one living in the Single Family residence, and the pastor was in the church when the fire started, oakland fire chief Damon Covington noting it could have been a lot worse. Crews did an outstanding job of keeping the fire to this building and half of the church. It really could have gotten a whole city block going had they not reacted so quickly.
