DAN COOK PHOTOS Dan Cook March 10, 2021 It’s not unusual for a large basketball program to have a player reach the 1,000-point milestone during their career, but for a school of 165 students to have three players surpass 1,000 points during the pandemic-shortened season is totally remarkable. It’s also special that all three reached that landmark within the last two weeks of the 2021 season. Delmarva Christian High School senior Gracie Fetterman hit her 1,000th point in the Feb. 24 win over Caravel. Jayson Handy garnered his 1,000th in the March 3 state tournament loss to Seaford. Finally, junior Sierra Troyer scored her 1,000th in the March 8 tournament loss to Woodbridge.

It was the M&M show, as Mehkia Applewhite and Morgan Mahoney lit up the scoreboard with 20 and 18 points, respectively. Applewhite hit four threes, while Mahoney dropped two. They also combined for nine rebounds, six blocks, six steals and five assists.

Delmarva Christian falls just short of last second comeback vs Ursuline

47abc February 16, 2021 GEORGETOWN, Del.- Despite a seven point run to end the game, the Delmarva Christina Royals fell to Ursuline 53-51 to drop to 8-4 on the season. It’s been a different year for everyone, including the Delmarva Christian Lady Royals. A team that normally only plays within the ESIAC, the Royals have had to schedule opponents from upstate Delaware. DC has played well against their new opponents going 8-3 coming into tonights matchup with Ursuline. Midway through the first, the Raiders took a 7 point lead after a little run to start. The Royals picked it up after a timeout and took  a one point lead to end the first quarter. Delmarva Christian turned it on in the second quarter, leading by as many as eight and taking a three point lead at half after a Gabrielle Paolella buzzer beater for Ursuline.
