In the meantime, this weekend, Goner will host a pair of live events in Memphis. On Saturday, the Goner-connected River Series concerts continue in Harbor Town. The show, which will take place at the amphitheater at the Maria Montessori School, will be headlined by Americana artists Amy LaVere and Will Sexton. Doors open at 5 p.m. and music starts at 6 p.m. Seated tickets for this event are $50.
At 5 p.m. Sunday, Chicago artist Derek Erdman will present a pop-up exhibition of his work outside the Goner Records store at 2119 Young Ave. Erdman the celebrated prankster and painter who is in the midst of a barnstorming cross-country art tour will sell a dozen of his original pieces, plus copies of his new “all caps” edition of The Great Gatsby and copies of his new zine, Those Fun Nuns.
