Montgomery county and western Chester County. It is in effect in the poconos and up in allentown and reading but we really dont think that the impact from the snow is going to be in the most cases until late this afternoon, early this evening. Highest snow totals will be mainly tonight overnight into wednesday morning and were not talking a super high snow total at that. We are looking at storm tracker6 live double scan with an indication of a little bit of the atmosphere moistening up, just some light snow showers out by harrisburg, pottsville, these are moving very slowly as they try and encounter allentown and reading and then eventually philadelphia later tonight. So, not a lot going on out there just yet but we are expecting the arrival of some of that later today and tonight. Temperatures ahead of this snow, though, are going to get mild. Well get all the way up to about 42 degrees by around 2 30 or 3 oclock. You can see how there might even be a peek of sunshine at some point th
At times. Its doing so right now. I showed you a shot a minute ago and police hadnt arrived on the accident scene yet. They were kind of stuck in the traffic there in the backlog but we can see now police, several police officers, emergency workers all responding to the scene. It looks to be at least three vehicles as i look at this. A few vehicles here and im not sure if thats one or two cause its kind of dark right there. We can see theyre currently blocking all lanes on the schuylkill westbound as emergency workers come to the scene to deal with this. This is westbound schuylkill at University Avenue. Our breaking news. A big accident involving several vehicles blocking all lanes and now we see emergency workers at the scene, some of them still in the backlog here trying to get there. Looks like we have an ambulance here as well trying to deal with this scene blocking all lanes on the schuylkill westbound at university. Traffic at a standstill. Were seeing speeds crawl along on the
We have a big accident at university avenue. I showed you this shot earlier. We had westbound completely blocked, eastbound almost completely blocked with this accident. Its a different scene now. We can see theyve pushed most of the vehicles off to the side. It was a multivehicle accident as chopper pans back you see what a tough morning commute it is. This delay stretches for miles and youre not expecting this kind of delay westbound headed towards University City coming off of the walt whitman bridge. Traffic is barely moving because of that accident. The good news is the accident that was blocking all lanes for awhile is off to the side now and eastbound traffic is also getting by so youre stuck in the traffic now but theres light at the end of the tunnel there because theyre allowing it to move at the scene. Lets switch to our Traffic Cameras and you get a different sense of whats happening here. So, heres that jammed traffic on the schuylkill westbound at university. Emergency wo
Commute. So this will be a storm moving in for most of us for the afternoon and it will have some heavy amounts of rain anywhere from a quarter to almost an inch of rain in some of the hills and the coastal areas. So a lot to track here as we start out the day, we will talk more about this and the scattered showers that will linger into tomorrow coming up. Mike spotted someone standing in lanes at the toll plaza. Someone is going to look up and say its you, mike. Were looking over here at the crash that was right there on the approach. We will take a look, it looks like everything is well, we still have some activity, you see that one car, its still stuck there. There was a tow truck there as well, i see another truck thats arriving right here. We have activity on the approach right in your approach toward the fast track lane. The cash lanes showing a little backup as well. This may be a problem but so far folks are jamming up right around that overcrossing. We will show you the map. T
Downpours right around lunchtime and that also starts to move into San Francisco. If you have a later lunch at about 1 00 you will see that rain coming down and then moving into the east bay. As we go through that evening commute its going to be a so long gee one with heavy downpours just starting to make it to san jose by about 4 00 to 5 00 and those winds will be picking up as well. So this one will bring in much more rain than weve seen recently, thats the reason why we are under a microclimate weather alert to give you the heads up about that, but now fot may be the biggest factor for drivers. Thats right. Aside from the bay bridge toll plaza which also has its metering lights on so thats always a factor, the fog through the trivalley really registers just about a quarter mile visibility on karis sensors. Not presenting a problem for the commute, but that will be an issue you deal with. In the south bay we had a crash reported 880 at alameda and 280 just past 87. Those have not bee
