Tomorrow, a first alert for dangerous cold. A look at the hour by hour in ten minutes. First, Jessica Boyington with first alert traffic. Were watching the schuylkill still, one of the only majors where were having pretty big problems. By problems i mean construction projects. On the blue route and eastbound side, they might be getting some of this out of the way because we had more lanes blocked a second ago. Now a lane is still getting by eastbound from that point to gladwyne. Were watching that work and watching the closure on the eastbound side between the vine. Right here, headed to south street. The eastbound chunk is still closed. Were seeing a westbound delay here. There is construction there. Its just lanes lost. Not actually closed like the eastbound side. Watching those things. Ill end with route 202 and drive times pretty much. Ten minutes both directions north and south from 30 to the schuylkill. Speeds into the 60s. Back to you. Thanks. We have breaking news to tell you a
Its cold but weve got some showers. Weve got showers but theyre not snow showers in most of the area. Storm tracker6 live in a moment will be showing us a little better view of this but right now lots of clouds around and a lot of snow showers but pushing to the north of us; see you can see a little bit of rain popping up closer to the rain. Most of the showers off to the north and west of philadelphia. They are creeping in our direction and you can see that changeover to a little bit of mixed precipitation out by pottsville and some snow up north of the poconos but air in place pretty mild this morning and we do expect most of what were going to see this morning just to be rain showers. 42 degrees currently in philadelphia. Even up in allentown, 38 so if you did manage top to get a snowflake its going to be way too mild up there for it to stick. 35 in trenton, 42 in wilmington, 44 in millville and 48 degrees in cape may. As we roll through the day, it does stay on the mild side for aw
Pottsville and the poconos to see that changeover to snow around here and air remaining mild through the morning. Colder air will rush in later this afternoon so its possible allentown gets a brief snow shower later on today. But generally speaking its rain right now and all light you see that lighter shade of green. That really isnt all that significant rain. 43 degrees in philadelphia right now. Even up in allentown 39 degrees so no chance avenue freezeup there. 38 in lancaster. 46 in millville, 49 degrees in cape may. We are going to experience some changes today. The majority of the morning and afternoon will be mild. By 3 oclock, still about 46 degrees coming down from a high of 47. But look how quickly the numbers drop. By 7 oclock i think we could be close to the freezing mark and then that cold air continues to rush in overnight and continues to make us very uncomfortable especially with winds on the rise. For this morning maybe a sprinkle on the bus stop. But temperatures are
Karen. I know pulling out of my drive way on a residential street i just kind of slid. Just having a skating job there. Allow extra time because some of you may really be going at the windshield with that scraper this morning. Use caution for the morning commute. We have lingering slick spots. Big problems are driveways, park, lots and sidewalks. Some side streets could also be an issue and let the kids know that as they are walking in theyre liable to encounter icy sidewalks win icy windshields sometimes you get people who havent totally cleared it out driving and it might be a little bit harder for them to see those kids as theyre walking across the street. Were at 27 degrees right now. The winds are west at five so were not having to worry about a whole lot of wind chill but as you can see, temperatures from about i95 all the way up toward allentown are still below freezing. You may have less of an issue with that ice on the windshield in places south like millville and dover where
