SHELBY CO., Tenn. (WMC) - Those waiting to get their second COVID-19 vaccine from the Shelby County Health Department can roll up their sleeves.
On Wednesday, the health department will start giving the second dose of the vaccine.
These doses are specifically for seniors and first responders who got their first shots at Lindenwood Christian Church or Sycamore View Road between December 28 and January 3rd. You’ll also need an appointment to get the second shot.

SHELBY CO., Tenn. (WMC) - The Tennessee Department of Health reported another 3,400 new COVID-19 cases across Tennessee with an additional 154 virus-related deaths.
TDH says there has been a total of 715,806 COVID-19 cases and 9,316 deaths in Tennessee since the beginning of the pandemic.
Data shows active cases have dropped to over 39,000. And just over 2,000 Tennesseans are currently hospitalized due to complications with the virus.

SHELBY CO., Tenn. (WMC) - Tennessee Department of Health COVID-19 data shows there are currently over 40,000 active cases across the state after reporting a case increase of 1,979 Tuesday.
Tennessee’s total number of cases has now surpassed 712,000 with a death toll of 9,162. TDH reported 192 additional virus-related deaths within the last 24 hours.
There are also 2,026 Tennesseans battling COVID-19 in hospitals across the state.

The Shelby County Health Department announced the locations for those ready to receive their second dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.
The locations will service only Shelby County residents who received their first dose between Dec. 28 through Jan. 3, at either the health department building at 1826 Sycamore View Rd., or at Lindenwood Church.
Each location is offering appointments in specific timeframes; those who qualify for the second dose can sign up for their appointment online or call the COVID-19 vaccine hotline at 901-222-7468. The line is staffed from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. seven days a week.
The health department is asking residents to bring their vaccination card received on their first appointment with them.
