Jackets Roll Past Tigers, 67-55
CLEMSON, S.C. – Behind four Yellow Jackets in double-figures, Georgia Tech rolled past Clemson Thursday night in Littlejohn Coliseum, 67-55. Lotta-Maj Lahtinen scored a team-high 15 points, while Lorela Cubaj finished with her 13th career double-double.
Tech (5-3, 3-2 ACC) led by as many as 22 points in the final quarter after trailing by nine points in the opening frame. Cubaj recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 14 points and a career-high 20 rebounds, becoming the first Yellow Jacket since 1996 to secure 20-plus rebounds in a game. Cubaj finished the game with five blocks, two assists and two steals. Kierra Fletcher followed with 13 points, while Eylia Love contributed a season-high 12 points.
THE FLATS – Georgia Tech’s scheduled game next week against Pittsburgh at McCamish Pavilion has been moved back one day to Wednesday, Jan. 13, to tip off at 8:30 p.m., the Atlantic Coast Conference announced Thursday. The game will be telecast on the ACC Network with radio coverage provided by the Georgia Tech Learfield IMG Sports Network (680 the Fan in Atlanta).
The move follows the postponement of the Panthers’ game at Florida State that was scheduled to be played Saturday, Jan. 9. In addition to the shift of Georgia Tech-Pitt game, Notre Dame’s game at Virginia on Jan. 13 will now be played at 2:30 p.m.
