• No. 20 Georgia Tech returns home for a brief reprieve, hosting SEC foe Auburn on Tuesday at Mac Nease Baseball Park at Russ Chandler Stadium.
• Auburn is Georgia Tech’s second-most played opponent in program history and the Jackets’ oldest opponent. Tech and Auburn first squared off on April 10, 1897.
• The Jackets stopped the skid on Sunday when they won 4-2 over Notre Dame and will look to continue in the midweek before a pivotal ACC series against Virginia Tech.
• After a cold series offensively, Tech moves to No. 2 in the ACC, hitting .294 as a team.
• Georgia Tech also finds itself among the ACC’s best in doubles (second), hits (second), on-base percentage (second), slugging percentage (second) and triples (second).
The No. 12 Yellow Jackets (14-12, 11-9 ACC) had just one multi-hit player in
Stephen Reid, who went 2-for-4, while
Justyn-Henry Malloy and
Tres Gonzalez also had doubles on the day. Likewise, the 12
th-ranked Fighting Irish (15-5, 14-5 ACC) had two multi-hit hitters with Ryan Cole leading on a 2-for-3, two-RBI homer day.
On the mound, Tech starter RHP
Andy Archer (4-3) received the loss after four runs scored in his 5.0 innings of work, while he struck out seven. The Jackets used three relief pitchers with RHP
Hugh Chapman and LHP
Dalton Smith not allowing an earned run between them.
For Notre Dame, LHP Aiden Tyrell (2-1) went a career-long 6.0 innings before RHP Alex Rao pitched three innings for the save.

Stephen Reid blasted a no-doubt, two-run homer in the eighth to power No. 12 Georgia Tech baseball past Notre Dame, 4-2, on Sunday at Frank Eck Stadium.
The Yellow Jackets (15-12, 12-9 ACC) battled in pitchers’ duel, where LHP
Sam Crawford worked a terrific start (6.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 K), before LHP
Josiah Siegel (1-0) pitched a clean seventh to get his first collegiate decision. RHP
Dawson Brown then retired the next two batters before LHP
Luke Bartnicki slammed the door with 1.1 innings of no-hit work for his fourth save of the year.
En route to 12 hits on the day, Tech had four multi-hit performances, including Reid.

Olivia Moore guided the Jackets in Tuscaloosa, collecting gold in the women’s pole vault, as Tech had multiple podium performances.
The Yellow Jackets lined up against host Alabama, Central Arkansas, Indiana State, Kennesaw State, UL-Lafayette, LSU, Memphis, Mississippi State, Samford, South Alabama, Southern Mississippi, Troy, Tulane and UAB (women).

Crosby Huckabay went 3-for-4 with four RBI, highlighted by a three-run home run in bottom of the fifth inning that capped Georgia Tech softball’s 12-2, run-rule win over Louisville on Sunday afternoon at Mewborn Field.
With the victory, Georgia Tech split this weekend’s four-game Atlantic Coast Conference series with Louisville.
Tech trailed 2-0 after two-and-a-half innings on Sunday but roared back with four runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings to cruise to its first run-rule triumph since a five-inning, 8-0 victory over Georgia State on Feb. 14.
The Yellow Jackets homered four times in the final three innings to highlight the 12-run outburst.
