Authorities offer $5k for info on fatal shooting of Beverly City man
MOUNT HOLLY Authorities are offering thousands of dollars to anyone who can help solve the fatal shooting of a Beverly City man in October.
The Burlington County Prosecutor s Office announced Tuesday it was offering $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the fatal shooting of city resident Octavius Williams.
Williams was shot in the chest outside of Delacove Homes just after 10 p.m. on Oct. 23. He was pronounced dead after being transported to Virtua Willingboro. There was a lot of activity in the area when Mr. Williams was shot, so I am quite certain there were witnesses who could assist our investigation,” Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina said.

Kahlil Carpenter, 30, was charged Tuesday with strict liability for drug-induced death and other drug charges.
Carpenter is accused of selling the fentanyl-laced heroin that caused Holly Morris to fatally overdose in her Evesham Township home.
The body of Morris was discovered by Evesham Police officers last December in her bedroom on Inverness Circle.
According to the Burlington County Prosecutor s office, autopsy results showed the fentanyl levels in her system were five times greater than the amount necessary to cause death.
Investigators determined Morris met Carpenter in Lumberton the day prior to her death to buy the drugs.

Between a hat display and rack of fashionable dresses sits a golden-framed chalkboard, with “Welcome to Chrisie Styles Boutique. Face masks are required” scrawled across it in decorative handwriting.
It’s Christine Hooper’s first holiday season in her size-inclusive fashion store’s new space along East Broad Street, and with a strong start on Black Friday and Small Business Saturday, things looked promising.
JOINT BASE McGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST Active coronavirus cases at a federal prison here appear to be on the decline, but congressional leaders from New Jersey have renewed their call to end inmate transfers to FCI Fort Dix.
Led by U.S. Senators Robert Menendez and Cory Booker, the state s congressional delegation sent a second letter to Bureau of Prisons (BOP) Director Michael Carvajal this week calling for the end of inmate transfers.
The letter also requests the BOP outline its plan for allocating and administering the COVID-19 vaccine.
The BOP had previously instituted a moratorium on all inmate transfers to the federal prison through Nov. 23 as active cases skyrocketed, eventually topping over 300.
