MEDFORD – The Burlington County Board of County Commissioners applauded the signing of new legislation to aid small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The legislation was sponsored by New Jersey Sen. Dawn Addiego and dedicates $25 million in federal COVID-19 aid as grants for microbusinesses with five or fewer employees to assist with their operations and recovery. Gov. Phil Murphy signed the measure into law Thursday morning during a ceremony outside Fond Memories, a Medford boutique that has been in business for 32 years. BURLINGTON CITY Gift boxes dangle from the tall ceilings of Chrisie Styles Boutique. Red bows hang on purple walls above the fitting rooms, and poinsettias sprout up across the store.
Between a hat display and rack of fashionable dresses sits a golden-framed chalkboard, with “Welcome to Chrisie Styles Boutique. Face masks are required” scrawled across it in decorative handwriting.
It’s Christine Hooper’s first holiday season in her size-inclusive fashion store’s new space along East Broad Street, and with a strong start on Black Friday and Small Business Saturday, things looked promising.
