Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Wednesday hopes that steps taken for the welfare of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members give more impetus for its operational activities and help it achieve greater success.
“A number of steps have been taken for the welfare of BGB members at all levels that will give the force more impetus for its operations and enable it to achieve greater success,” he said while addressing a function at Pilkhana BGB headquarters.
Asaduzzaman distributed awards among recipients in recognition of their heroic work in the activities of the BGB in 2020.

India, Bangladesh agree to share intelligence to combat trans-border crimes
Guwahati, Dec 23 (UNI) Bangladesh and India have agreed to share the intelligence to combat trans-border crimes.
The decision was taken at the five-day India and Bangladesh Director General-level border talks which is underway in Guwahati.
In the meeting, both the sides have stressed on real-time exchange of information about the activities of the arms traders in both the countries in a bid to prevent the border crime, including smuggling of arms and ammunition.

BGB-BSF border conference begins in India s Guwahati

A four-day Director General (DG)- level Border conference between Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB)and Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has begun in Guwahati, the capital city of Indian State Assam.
BGB Director General Major General Md Shafeenul Islam is leading the 11-member Bangladesh delegation while his counterpart BSF DG Rakesh Asthana is leading his 12-member team.
This is for the first time in four decades that the border conference between the two border forces has been organised outside New Delhi, the capital of India.
The conference will end with the signing of a Joint Record of Discussions (JRD) on December 25.
