If BJP dispensation had faith in India's secularism and sovereign character, then priests of all religions would have been invited to the inauguration, says the Samajwadi Party leader
The Congress on Sunday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi after he inaugurated the new Parliament building, saying that a self-glorifying authoritarian PM with utter disdain for parliamentary procedures has opened the new complex.
The building has been completed in about two-and-a-half years at an estimated cost of nearly Rs 1,200 crore. Nearly 20 Opposition parties boycotted the event, accusing the prime minister of sidelining president Droupadi Murmu
Another NCP leader Supriya Sule has also reacted to the new Parliament inauguration and called it an ‘incomplete event’ without Opposition parties, saying that it means there is no democracy in the country.
In view of the inauguration of the new Parliament building, all entry and exit gates of the Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan metro stations have been closed for passenger movement.
