governor is clear. gregg: i am glad you brought up gallup and rasmussen. here is rasmussen, with romney up by to points and look at gallup tracking poll, pat, romney is up, as of 1:00 o clock this afternoon, romney is up plus seven points. is that gallup poll accurate? or an outliar? i think it is an outliar because i have a problem with the seven-day seven day rollings because you are putting in 350 interviews which is margin of error at 15 points and each day you take one out. however, obama is i take gallup and rasmussen and i divide by two and i might do more than that. rasmussen shows romney up in the swing states by four points. if you look at the race, it is what doug said, very close, but it is moving to romney.
month. we ve gotten to a point when we have as a whole created a net plus in jobs. when you break down that figure on female unemployment, that figure is, unfortunately, dragged down because of minority women s unemployment. unemployment in white women in this country is between 6% and 7%. it has been for months. that s one of the secrets, the little secrets of the economy you will never hear from the republicans. this was essentially a mance mancession. what the stimulus did was it concentrated a lot of the recovery in jobs held by women. health care, teachers. so you saw a big rebound in female employment right at the beginning of the stimulus and now you re seeing toward the end a rebound among men. right. michael, both the president and bill clinton slammed romney s game of hide and seek today, but today s gallup tracking poll has romney opening his widest lead over the president, seven points among likely voters. does that prove, mike, this game of hide and seek is working?
race with the first debate the largest shift. i ll let jon stewart introduce the next expert. i think we all know what we need. nerds! so when you see obama gaining in today s gallup tracking poll, that means that obama s interviews yesterday better than seven days conducted before did debate. he went from three ahead in their seven-day track yesterday to five ahead in their track today. so that nerd is nerds. in quotes there. nate cohn in the nate spot today. i want to say, first of all, it probably could have been worse for both of us on the jon stewart and i think he picked us because we have glasses. i thought so, too. congratulations on the hair cut, brother. i needed it badly. let s put those data skills to work here. you just need the tape

polling in the wake of wednesday s debate. this afternoon pew released a poll that showed a dramatic shift toward romney. this poll covers the four days since the debate, and it has romney pulling even with president obama among registered voters, 46% even. four weeks ago pew had obama up by nine among registered voters, so this has been a huge shift in the pew poll. the move in the pew poll towards romney is greater among likely voters. romney is surging ahead to 49%. four weeks ago obama led among likely voters by eight. now to the latest gallup tracking poll which covers the last seven days. gallup has president obama back in the lead at 50 to 45. what a difference from the other poll. that s exactly where the race stood before the debate. romney had surged in the tracking poll. the two candidates were actually tied in the three days immediately after the debate, but the president seems to have wiped out romney s gains in the gallup poll. joining me right now are howard fineman, edi
