DIY arts organization comes to surface
GALESBURG As this summer promises a potential return to normalcy in COVID-19 restrictions, a local organization is hoping to bring Galesburg a youth-focused space for arts and music.
The Surface is the result of a year of connections between Galesburg-based Joey Peterson and the Peoria Our House Entertainment group. The organization is set to hold its first event on June 3, although the event will not be open to the public in person.
Peterson says that the event will provide a space for arts and live music, but hosted entirely in Peterson’s own apartment building, its first iteration at least will be hosted primarily on an Instagram live stream.
