A broken-down vehicle led to the recovery of a 10-year-old child abducted from Idaho Falls, Idaho.
According the Wyoming Highway Patrol, at 7:08 a.m., a WHP trooper was notified of a broken-down vehicle near mile marker 32 on Wyoming Highway 430 south of Rock Springs.
The trooper located the vehicle and realized it matched the description of a vehicle described in an Amber Alert issued out of Idaho Falls, Idaho, that was believed to have been traveling to Pueblo, Colo.

ROCK SPRINGS, Wyoming Wyoming state troopers found a child at the center of an Idaho Falls Amber alert in a broken down car in rural Wyoming.
On Friday, the Idaho Falls Police Department said that 10-yer-old Derek Jesus Abitia Rodriguez was missing and possibly abducted. Later that night, an Amber alert was issued and sent to authorities in Idaho and surrounding states. By Sunday morning, the Wyoming Highway Patrol found Derek safe and arrested two adults, including his non-custodial mother.
Child Found Safe Near Rock Springs
Law enforcement was told the suspect vehicle involved in the incident was possibly headed towards Pueblo, Colorado.
On December 12, around 7:08 am, a Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP) trooper was notified of a broken down vehicle in the road at milepost 32 on Wyoming 430 south of Rock Springs, Wyoming. When the trooper located the vehicle, they realized it was similar to the one described in the Amber Alert. The driver gave inconsistent and vague responses to the trooper when questioned and originally said that he was alone in the vehicle.
The trooper detained the driver and asked if the female suspect from the Amber Alert was inside the car, at which point the driver admitted the female and the juvenile were with him. At that point, all occupants were asked to exit the vehicle, and the juvenile from the Amber Alert was found unharmed.

CASPER, Wyo. The Wyoming Highway Patrol said on Tuesday that 10 year old Derek Jesus Rodriguez has been found safe south of Rock Springs.
An Amber Alert had been issued on Friday after Rodriguez was reported abducted from the Idaho Falls, Idaho area.
A Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper was notified of a broken down vehicle on WYO 430 south of Rock Springs at around 7 am Saturday.

“The trooper located the vehicle and realized it was similar to the one described in the Amber Alert,” the WHP said. “The trooper spoke with the driver and received inconsistent and vague responses. The driver also initially told the trooper he was alone in the vehicle.”
