Olney, IL, USA / WSEI Freedom 92.9 FM | The Best Country in America Apr 6, 2021 6:56 AM (OLNEY) The Richland County TB & Health Office in Olney is reporting fifteen (15) new COVID-19 cases over the past week, since last Monday, a week ago yesterday. The new numbers posted show 1,706 positive cases involving Richland County residents, with 44 deaths, 1,636 people recovered, 32 now in quarantine due to contact, 26 current active positive cases all of which are in home isolation, and now 3 people hospitalized. There have been 24,837 COVID-19 tests conducted in Richland County, with 23,131 negative test results. For COVID-19 testing, contact the Carle Convenient Care Clinic along Route 130, just west of the Olney City Park. It’s open from 8:00 each morning until 8:00 each night, seven days a week.

The state’s new coronavirus death toll is now up to 21,349. The latest hospitalization report shows an increase to 1,445 patients in statewide hospitals with COVID-19. Of those, 314 patients are in Intensive Care Units with 129 patients currently on ventilators. MARION COUNTY ATV ACCIDENT

Apr 3, 2021 6:24 AM (SALEM) Marion County authorities are continuing to investigate a side-by-side four-wheeler accident that occurred Friday afternoon at the intersection of Brown Church Road and Lane Road, in the rural Kinmundy area. Officials say the crash resulted in the death of 14 year old Wesley Hunter from Salem, a passenger in the ATV. While no other details about the accident are available, authorities say there were no other injuries and no other vehicles involved. The teenager was pronounced deceased at the scene of the fatal accident. Emergency personnel from the Kinmundy and Farina areas responded to the crash scene to assist the Marion County Sheriff’s Department.

That’s from 1:30 to 4:00 at the Heritage House Museum and McsBurg Schoolhouse at the corner of Elm Street and Kitchell Avenue in Olney and the Carnegie Museum at 401 East Main Street in Olney. All facilities are operated by volunteers and special tours during off-hours can be requested by calling the Museum Foundation and leaving a message.
