(SALEM) Marion County authorities are continuing to investigate a side-by-side four-wheeler accident that occurred Friday afternoon at the intersection of Brown Church Road and Lane Road, in the rural Kinmundy area. Officials say the crash resulted in the death of 14 year old Wesley Hunter from Salem, a passenger in the ATV. While no other details about the accident are available, authorities say there were no other injuries and no other vehicles involved. The teenager was pronounced deceased at the scene of the fatal accident. Emergency personnel from the Kinmundy and Farina areas responded to the crash scene to assist the Marion County Sheriff’s Department.

A Marion County man, 47-year-old David D. Jones of Flippin, has been arrested and charged with three counts of rape, a Class Y felony. Class Y felonies are the most serious classification of crime in Arkansas not punishable by death. Information from the Arkansas State Police indicates Jones is from the Rea Valley community.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Jones’ arrest comes after reports from the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division indicating an 11-year-old female was interviewed earlier this month. The interview was conducted at Grandma’s House Children’s Advocacy Center in Mountain Home.
