Teaching journey brought him back home

When Taylor Ashby was a senior at North Fort Myers High School, he said to himself that he was not only going to become an educator, but also return to his alma mater to teach.
He achieved that, and last week, in only his sixth year of teaching, he was named a finalist for the prestigious Golden Apple, presented annually by the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools.
“It’s very exciting, very humbling and I can’t wait for the experience to begin so my class can shine,” Ashby said.
