We know others have been taken to aria torresdale and aria frankford. Again 50 plus injuries is what were being told right now as many as 10 cars going off. The extent of the injuries as david said unknown at this point but we know its enough that some people had to be taken away on stretchers while others could walk away with scrapes and bruises. Were told about 240 people were on board that train when it was going from washington to new york. Youre looking at chopper3. You see the First Responders there. A large presence there tonight. We do know mayor Michael Nutter is on scene. Hes expected to talk to us and briefer us very shortly and of course as soon as he begins to do that we will bring that to you. You see a huge emergency response. We have a number of police firefighters, emergency crews out here waiting to respond to go in to help in the mass casualties that are reported from the derailment. A number of ambulances out here and, of course, we saw a couple of septa buses that have taken people who are injured, dozens of people who are not but also those who are visibly hurt being taken to any hospital thats accepting trauma patients at this point. Right now they are going in weve seen stretchers going back and forth. Weve seen these ambulances on hold four blocks away from the derailment waiting for more injured to come out. Now, as the socalled walking injured, people who are able to walk to an ambulance or to the bus are able to get here. We have Emergency Personnel here waiting for them. Other people weve seen come out on stretchers. Theres been reports of about 50 people injured. Weve seen a number of them on the phone trying to get ahold of loved ones. Even talked to one inj
Cars that are out here that use these rail lines at this junction here and you see just a lot of activity out here for amtrak. Septa uses these lines as well. There was a curve in the area where the accident happened but he wouldnt speculate on the speed of the train or what else may have happened at the time of the crash. He also briefed us on all the agencies involved in response efforts. Full response. Fire police, department of homeland security, accept at that amtrak. I talked to governor wilson and his chief of staff. They are very concerned about this incident. Have given their full cooperation and support. Al
