Ar its a charge we have heard from the president , and from several people on fox news that the Trump Campaign was somehow spied upon by our government in a way that circumvented due process in this country. Today we heard our attorney general william barr make that same charge. It came during a hearing of the Senate Appropriations committee. One of the things i want to do is pull together all the information from the various investigations that have gone on, including on the hill and in the department, and see if there are any remaining questions to e be addressed. We want to make sure that during i think spying on a Political Campaign is a big deal. Im not talking about the fbi, necessarily, but intelligence agencies more broadly. So youre not suggesting, though, that spying occurred . I dont well, i guess you could i think spying did occ

you buy it. but it could in the end break them. yeah. and brian, this, to frank s point, is why this 1/6 commission is so important. because, yes, senator mcconnell said that everybody was there on january 6th. and yet we do not have as a country a shared set of facts. there is still a significant number of republicans who are unclear about the origins or cause of january 6th. so a full airing of events from an objective panel that can review the events of that day and report the findings is not so much for the folks in that building. it s for the american people who need that to be on the public record. including so many of the voters that i talk to, including the black voters who are clear that the events of january 6th were about negating what they did on election day in 2020, as illegal
harboring criminal entities that are intending to do harm to the critical infrastructure is not acceptable. and there is new report on the trump justice department seizing the phone records of reporters. the biden administration informed the times that officials had seized phone records from january 14th to april 30th of 2017 for four times reporters. it s a lot. let s bring in ashley parker, erin haynes, and frank figliuzi.
