crime puts the hospital into lockdown mode for hours. police searched every inch of the building but came up empty handed. audrey. reporter: maureen, montgomery county police are calling this death a homicide. the victim s body is now on its way to the medical examiner s office in baltimore. here in the hospital it s back to business as usual. montgomery county police swarmed suburban hospital after getting a call this morning of an assault inside the facility. they arrived within one minute. there they found a 40-year- old male employee of the hospital who had been assaulted, received trauma to the upper body. he was found in an area inside the hospital, nonpatient care area. he was pronounced dead at the scene. reporter: the facility was put on lockdown while investigators went room by room looking for a suspect. we immediately put into effect our disaster protocol. so after we locked down we started a series of e-mail streams to all hospital staff informing them ev
