Still smoke from those wildfires raging across california and oregon leaving the bay area with some of the worst air quality in the world tonight. And that smoke is expected to linger through the weekend. Our chief meteorologist Lawrence Karnow is here with the details on what we should expect lawrence we need that out of here. Yeah we certainly do and to get that out of here we need really a push for some good gusty winds right now were not getting that we just got a light breeze so there you go youve got sites like this all around the bay area that smoke. Just sitting right down on the ground and its unhealthy all around the bay area in fact right now youre looking at some very unhealthy smoke sitting acros

Stay. I think we saw some improvement up above we had some mix in the atmosphere bit. Little more sunshine pop up in spots still some very poor air quality no getting around it that sits there tonight you can see up toward sfo you see the light you see all the smoke down below and as we look toward the Golden Gate Bridge weve got some fog rolling on shore thats good. Unfortunately. It just kind of a thin marine layer so there again nice pressure off the ocean but that is just mixing with some of the smoke out there as well and theyre just so small so much smoke around right now back weve got some very poor air quality in quite rapidly in fact last hour it was all across the bay into
It has now made landfall overnight. Residents are facing a very long wet weekend. Thats galveston this morning. Its wet and the winds are strong. This is the strongest year came to hit the United States in more than a decade. We will talk about its path, the damage and how the government is responding.
