Let s Celebrate International Tennessee Whiskey Day with Some More News

Let s Celebrate International Tennessee Whiskey Day With Some More News Not the least of which is that it’s International Tennessee Whiskey Day! Tweet Share Say what you will about the past session of the state legislature — at least they accomplished one semi-constructive thing: By a vote of 26-1, the Senate declared May 21 to be “International Tennessee Whiskey Day.” While I’m not completely sure how a state legislature can declare an “International” anything, at least they were able to come together to recognize the importance of distilling as an industry in Tennessee. (Except for Republican Sen. Joey Henley of Hohenwald, who must still be bitter about failing to exempt tampons from the grocery component of the sales tax holiday in 2020, so he voted against the resolution.)

8 Tennessee Whiskeys Perfect for Last-Minute Holiday Gifting

Sweetens Cove [Official Photo] 2020 has been anything but smooth sailing but that doesn’t mean that your holiday whiskey can’t be. So pour a glass of one of these Volunteer State-born brown water blends, cue up some Chris Stapleton, and cozy up to the fire for a safer holiday at home. Considering that Christmas is nearly here and the USPS is in a state of total chaos, it’s a little bit too late to order those last-minute holiday gifts. Fortunately, one great gift option that keeps on giving is whiskey most especially one that’s distilled right here in Tennesse. Everyone knows the Jack Daniel’s name and story, which of course has its rightful place in Tennessee whiskey history and its ongoing story, but here we shine a light on a few others that’ll wrap up nicely under the tree (or not, for the rest of us in survival mode sans tinsel).

Tennessee Whiskey Trail distilleries offer holiday drinks, specials, gifts

Knoxville News Sentinel Distilleries along the Tennessee Whiskey Trail are decking the halls during the holidays with themed cocktails, charity events, exclusive gifts and more. More than 25 distilleries across 36 counties are part of the trail and plan to celebrate the season.  “The distilleries of the Tennessee Whiskey Trail have come up with some creative experiences to celebrate the season. This year has been a tough one, so it’s more important than ever to us to boost people’s spirits,” Sara Beth Urban, executive director of the Tennessee Distiller’s Guild, said in a release.  Whiskey-lovers can try out the trail and earn a commemorative gift at the end of their trip by completing a passport. Visitors can pick up a passport at participating distilleries or download a passport on the TN Whiskey Trail app available on Apple and Android devices.
