alternate capital of ukraine. right. i mean, we were just talking to a reporter there earlier. he said people have been going about their business there and feel protected. this strike on this military base shows that nowhere is safe in ukraine and perhaps, beyond. that is a scary part. there is all this talk about no fly zones and the biden administration is very clear it is not going to put a no fly zone in ukraine. would have a no fly zone prevent a strike? depends. based on reporting the strike was carried out by missiles launched from aircraft, so in that particular case, the answer is yes. a no fly zone would help as long as the aircraft were in ukraine air space and we re assuming the no fly zone would be for ukraine and no other territory in and around the ukrainian air space. if these are ground launched missiles, then it become as completely different issue because what you re seeing there is something that would have to
effectively nato made clear today that they are not opting for a no fly zone as many ukrainians had hopped. ukrainians are saying while they understand that, many fear that it could be a mistake in that it s only going to encourage dangerous behavior by vladimir putin and a green light for that that will ultimately threaten other nato countries down the road and longer term mistake. what do you think of that? i can understand how the ukrainians feel. it must be absolutely desperate, neil. establishing a no fly zone isn t possible. the russians have air superiority. you can t impose no fly zones with an adversary. that would bring nato in direct confrontation with russian military forces. nato has been very ready to stress to the russians that nato
