A North Carolina community bank has made the trip up Interstate 95, launching its first Virginia branch in Virginia Beach.

First Carolina Bank, a Rocky Mount, North Carolina-based institution, converted its Virginia Beach loan production office into a full-service branch on March 1. The bank, which includes some familiar faces in the Hampton Roads industry, is a first step toward growth in the market, said President and CEO Ron Day.
“There’s nothing that a company can’t do with us, or an individual can’t do with us,” Day said.
The saying âSuccess breeds successâ can apply to a Rocky Mount-based community financial institution having opened a new stand-alone corporate administration building adjacent to the present main banking building along North Winstead Avenue.
First Carolina Bank hired Smithson Inc. to build the structure on the immediate north side of the property and the construction project started in January and was complete by the end of October.
âWeâve almost doubled the size of the company in the last 15 months,â First Carolina President and CEO Ron Day told the Telegram. âThat has been because people still want to do business with people that they know that can be responsive â and not talk to a 1-800 number, get their business serviced by people that execute well for âem.â
