Stanford officially opened the doors to its new hospital today. The transportation of about 200 patients to this new facility. Staff carefully walked each one across the sky bridge connecting the old hospital to the new one. Once in the new facility, each patient was met with applause and fanfare. Hospital leaders say it is exciting and rewarding to see their vision turned into a reality. We know we are able to provide world class care. Whats wonderful is we can do it in this beautiful, healing space. We made all the private rooms. All the rooms have room for their families to speak, which is something we have never been able to offer before and even in the intensive care units. Also as of last night, it was still 15 contained. Close to 200 buildings have been destroyed, including 86 homes, some 90,000 others remain threatened. The other big story were following this morning, pg es latest round of Power Outages, which also went better than expected for people outside of the north bay. The utility never turned off the power for some people in santa clara, alameda, contra costa and san mateo counties. The predicted overnight weather conditions never materialized.
