many people many different places have many different opinions. i ve got to read it listen to them but make up my own mind. let me just final question on this. you have been in public office you know 40 years now basically. when you look at the stakes in this issue, the sort of the consequences of the decision you have to make on this where does this one rank in terms of tough decisions? high up. tough decision. high up. i ve had them before. goes with the territory. that s why you re paid the big bucks, as they say. and, you know the importance of it is very very real to me. i m going to read it go over with it a fine-toothed comb. talk to people on all sides, of course, the administration and then, because it s such an important decision i m going to weigh it really carefully. that s all i can say. okay. senator chuck schumer of new york. he is the key player in whether president obama s nuclear deal with iran gets approval from congress. you can catch the rest of that interv
limited resources. while it would be nice to have the option to look over every case of excessive force with a fine-toothed comb and scrutinize it, we don t have those decisions in law enforcement and decisions have to be made. even if there is a claim of excessive force, if a grand jury doesn t indict in another case, maybe the resources aren t available to have a second look at each and every instance of excessive force, but that is why we have the civil system of justice because if you believe that you ve been the victim of excessive force and the government will not investigate it, then you can get a private attorney and pursue those claims. it may not satisfy that need for arresting the people that people believe are responsible, but it s all they have. may not fit their definition of justice in this case. but in the garner case, are you saying that it s specifically based on resources, or that they have exhausted the system when the grand jury came back without
a lot of times what these inmates will do is they ll conceal contraband items in their mattress. so this appears to be some ink from an inmate-manufactured tattoo gun. it s pretty common. they ll hide ink and needles and rigs and stuff like that inside of these mattresses. basically we hit the cell looking for paperwork that may incriminate these guys being participants in this threat against staff. we collected a bunch of paperwork. we re going to take it back to headquarters. and then we re going to go through it with a fine-toothed comb and see what we can come up with, see if these guys are actively involved. to err on the side of caution we ll place them in ad seg and do our investigation. pending the outcome, we ll determine what their program is
fine-toothed comb, and pointing responsibility at ukraine, but there is so much more than that. obviously people want to go find out the lega legitimacy. in terms of the evidence, what can that tell us? let s go to miles o brien, in terms of the evidence, miles, how critical do you think the black box is in terms of getting answers here and other parts of the physical plane that remain? well, it s important, but, again, it s not this giant mystery, and not this giant whodunit. we have a lot of evidence outside of the wreckage and outside of the black boxes, which has led us to a pretty strong area of you could almost put it in the realm of a conclusion as to what happened here. we have the heat signature of the missile, and we know where it was launched from, and the radar signature of the device itself, the video of a buk
investigators looking with a fine toothed comb through not only the backgrounds of these pilots but the simulator found in the pilot s home. nothing. that has to count for a lot. i think it does, ashleigh. i m sure another thing they had done because i think it s routinely done in this country in terms of pilots, when the circumstances of the accident call for it, is something in the form of a psychological autopsy. in that situation you don t need to locate the wreckage or the victims. you can do a psychological autopsy based on interviews and lifestyles and what s known about the person. obviously, they re done in the absence of the person. i suspect if they had found anything in either pilot s background that suggested they were involved in this we would have heard about this by now. the other possibility, the
