Handset Industry: After dull shipments over the past few months, handset makers are expected to try and make the most of the festive season, especially as 5G roll-out progresses and shipments for 5G smartphones pick up. The festive season accounts for around a fifth of annual sales.
“This year it is expected that annual sales volume of the industry will be about 41 lakh and one can expect sales of 10 lakh units in the festive season. The beginning has been good and we are hoping that this trend of strong demand will continue going forward. As for the model, we are seeing a lot of traction on the SUV and MPV front.”
Festive season sale: The e-commerce sector currently has around 2,00,000 open positions for temporary workers. These jobs are primarily available in last mile delivery space and warehouse operations.
