About a third greater and they couldnt allow that to continue so they opened up the full throttle so to speak on the water they were letting out despite the damage at the bottom of the spill way. But what they are really trying to do at this point in time is just get a handle on all of this. Now this may take awhile because officials must monitor for erosion or any other change to spell trouble. Repairs to stabilize the situation could take awhile as officials decide exactly how to do it. Recently helicopters have been placing what appear to be sand bags and in reality are bags of large bolders and hauling the rocks to other locations. People are still under mandatory evacuation orders. Many have found temporary housing while others are still in emergency shelters like this one. Problems at lake orrville. As they wonder when they will be allowed to get back home the work on the damaged emergency spillway continues this morning. Crews are racing against time to get that shored up before a series of storms promises rain in the coming days speaking of which here is the expert with how much rain we will get.
