TSHWANE – A splendid 162-run opening partnership between Aiden Markram and Dean Elgar helped the Titans hit back on the third day of their 4-Day Domestic Series showdown against the Knights at SuperSport Park in Centurion on Tuesday.
Both struck unbeaten half-centuries as the hosts made an imposing start to their second innings to wipe out the 151-run deficit built after the visitors had earlier amassed 414 for nine declared.
That innings was based around Farhaan Behardien, who moved from his overnight day two score of 126 to end with a splendid 142 (14 fours) that was eight shy of his career best 150 .

CENTURION – Farhaan Behardien recorded his 12th career century to ensure the Knights had moved into command at the halfway stage of their 4-Day Domestic Series encounter against the Titans at SuperSport Park in Centurion on Monday.
The veteran right-hander produced an outstanding unbeaten 126 (233 balls, 13 fours) as the Pool A leaders went to stumps on 307 for six against their hosts, who lead Pool B.
That put the Central Franchise 44 runs ahead in the cross-pool encounter, with key contributions also coming from the competition’s top run-scorer Raynard van Tonder (52 off 123 balls, 4 fours) and Patrick Kruger (69 off 99 balls, 9 fours).

Jonny Bairstow scored a blistering 60 not out as England trounced South Africa by nine wickets in the first Twenty20 international at Southampton on Wednesday.
Set a paltry target of 142 by the South Africans, England reached their target for the loss of only one wicket with 33 balls left. Opener Alex Hales was 47 not out, his unbroken second- wicket stand with Bairstow worth 98 runs. But the foundations for a victory which put England 1-0 up in this three-match series were laid by their bowlers.
