On Tuesday, June 6, Kanturk AFC Senior players achieved something which is likely to never be topped by winning promotion to Division 1 of the Munster Senior League in what is just their second year at this level. Cork never looked back thereafter and ran out winners on a final score line of 2-22 to Offaly’s 3-13. Colin Walsh becomes the 13th Kanturk player to win All Ireland honours with the full list as follows: Dan Singleton JHC 1912, Mick O’Loughlin JFC 1964, Hugh O’Sullivan MFC 1968, 1969, Tim Burke JHC 1987, Anthony Nash MHC 2001, IHC 2003, 2004, 2006, 2009; Dave Riordan JFC 2007, John Mc Loughlin U21FC & J
