The 9th Education International Asia-Pacific (EIAP) Regional Conference “Rebuilding the Asia-Pacific: Educators and their unions at the forefront towards a sustainable future” provided education trade unionists in the region and beyond with an extraordinary opportunity to connect, exchange experiences, new perspectives, fresh ideas, and delve deeper into achieving decent working conditions for all education sector employees, quality education for all children as well as sustainable and a just future for all.

The Department of Education (DepEd) is set to highlight best learning practices in the country amid COVID-19 in celebration of International Day of Education (IDE) this year at the “Stories of Revitalization and Excellence: 2021 IDE Virtual Forum” on Jan. 25.
Initiated by DepEd’s International Cooperation Office, the activity, featuring efforts and initiatives of various education stakeholders amid the pandemic, will also highlight inspiring stories of Filipino students and teachers who excelled internationally in line with the international theme, “Recover and Revitalize Education for the COVID-19 Generation.”
In the forum, outstanding teachers will share their efforts and sacrifices in ensuring that quality, inclusive, and relevant education will be delivered to the students amid the pandemic.
LOS BAÑOS, Laguna, Dec. 12 (PIA) The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO), of which the Philippines is a chartered member, celebrated its 55th year in November 2020 with 26 regional centers across Southeast Asia, three of which are hosted by the Philippine government. The country is represented in the SEAMEO Council by the Secretary of the Department of Education (DepEd).
“Indeed, SEAMEO has come a long way since its inception in 1965 and has taken pride of his achievements over the years as Southeast Asia’s longest running regional organization for promoting quality education, science, and culture,” said Dr. Ethel Agnes P. Valenzuela, a Filipino and the Director of the Bangkok-based SEAMEO Secretariat (SEAMES).
