At the celebration of the International Day of Education at Kanuwloe, a community in the North Tongu District of the Volta Region, Mr. Awadey appealed to Ghanaians to embrace education wholeheartedly and set in motion the solutions to most of the problems in their homes and communities. These include, child trafficking, child labour, child marriage, teenage pregnancy, inequality, gender-based violence. Education is a human right; no child should therefore be denied the right to education.

“Thanks to our teachers who, along with us, bore with the terrible burden of transitioning to COVID-19 education with all these demands on teaching, on curriculum [and] on technology, as well as all the requirements to make a small, effective in delivering learning,” Briones said in a forum for the International Day of Education (IDE) celebration.
“Our people are prepared to make all the sacrifices necessary, do everything to make sure that our children get the education we believe they deserve which will prepare them for the life that lies ahead of them,” Briones added.

NAS donates desks to Abuja school

In a bid to compliment the efforts of government towards the provision of learning facilities in schools, the National Association of Seadogs, NAS, also known as Pyrates Confraternity has donated double seater desks worth over N200, 000 to LEA Primary School Gwarinpa Estate 11, Abuja.
The donation which was made by the Abuja 1 Chapter (Zuma Deck) through its Sub-Deck (Galleon Bay) was also part of the association’s contribution to the commemoration of the 2021 International Day of Education.
Speaking while making the presentation, President of the Zuma Deck Chapter of NAS, Mr. Anderson Oseh explained that the gesture was to compliment government’s efforts in ensuring that pupils learn in a conducive environment.

AS the global community marked this year’s International Day of Education on January 25, Skool Media has urged government at all levels and private school owners to ensure that Nigerian students and teachers are protected from the spread of the Coronavirus disease that is threatening people’s livelihood the world over.
In a statement by the Head, Corporate Communications, Sola Oluwadare, in Lagos, the organisation said the call was in line with the theme of the day this year, which was “Recover and Revitalize Education for the COVID-19 Generation.”
