The City of Santa Cruz announced they have received $4 million from the State of California Encampment Resolution funding program to tackle homelessness.
Cases of a bacterial infection known as Shigellosis have been reported in the county and prompted the relocation and possible postponement of an event in Harvey West Park that was planned for Saturday.
"While we didn't see flooding this round, it does set us up for something to keep an eye on if we do get another series of storms like that," said Santa Cruz County spokesperson Jason Hoppin.
