Santa Cruz County public health leaders have joined 12 neighboring jurisdictions in urging measles vaccination amid an uptick in cases at state and national levels.
Cases of a bacterial infection known as Shigellosis have been reported in the county and prompted the relocation and possible postponement of an event in Harvey West Park that was planned for Saturday.
Janus of Santa Cruz, which serves more than 2,500 clients in the Santa Cruz area, is slated to receive $520,911 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to support programs in withdrawal management, residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation treatment, perinatal treatment, medication-assisted treatment, DUI correction, and intensive outpatient services.
