The the suv was stuck at the Railroad Crossing in new york, when the Railroad Track gates had come down on the vehicle. The driver got out looked at the rear of the suv got back in started to drive forward and then came the crash. The train plowed the vehicle down the track, both the suv and front of the train burst into flames. Ten passengers were hurt in addition to the fatalities, including the driver of the suv. 400 passengers were evacuated from the rear of the train.
