Piscataquis County's economic development leader resigns to lead Kansas nonprofit

The executive director of the Piscataquis County Economic Development Council is leaving after leading the organization for two years. John Shea accepted a position as executive director of the North Central Kansas Regional Planning Commission in Beloit, Kansas, a nonprofit focused on economic development, housing, weatherization, regional planning and other efforts in a 12-county area, he said.

What's going on with 5 Pittsfield park projects?

Jim McGrath has a lot on his plate this spring. Pittsfield s parks and open space manager is currently overseeing five projects, all at or nearing completion, from the long-awaited extension into the city of the Ashuwillticook Rail Trail to a new park along the Housatonic River on the city s west side. Also in progress are a new dog park, renovations to the historic Springside House and improvements to the skate park near Pittsfield High School.
