The bi-annual survey, which sampled 2,111 Americans in October 2022, reports that less than half (43%) of consumers currently say they trust academic scientists on food safety information, down from 52% in 2018.
A large majority of Americans are concerned about the impact of inflation on their grocery bills. That’s according to new results from Michigan State University’s Food Literacy and Engagement Poll.
COVID-19 has made food access more challenging for many communities. In Michigan State University’s Fall 2021 Food Literacy and Engagement Poll, 31% of the people we talked to said the pandemic had affected their household’s ability to obtain food. This included 28% of households earning less than $25,000, and 38% of those earning more than $75,000 annually.
A recent survey finds that the pandemic has increased food insecurity, making it a challenge for 31 percent of U.S. households to put food on the table. It also changed the ways in which people buy and store food.
